Poly Seals

poly seal technical drawingPoly seals differ greatly from the conventional U-Cups, which are more prone to leak at lower pressures. The Poly Seal is a squeeze-type seal that provides an even load of pressure on the seal lips, providing a positive seal at very low pressures. As pressure increases, the lip loading is automatically increased to compensate for elevated system pressure and continues to maintain a positive, leak-free fit from vacuum to pressure.

Standard Poly Seals are square in cross-section, and are suitable for a wide variety of rod and piston applications.

b-lip poly sealDeep Poly Seals are a rectangular version of the standard poly seal. The added height improves stability in high shock, for heavy duty applications.

Type "B" Poly Seals add a back bevel lip to the deep Poly Seal shape and aligns the seal interface near the centerline of the o-ring to provide increased squeeze. This is an excellent stable configuration, as the standard poly seal gives you excellent low pressure as well as super high pressure.
